Countryside New Build
The property was built on the site of a former deteriorating cottage. Working closely with architects Arco2 our team brought to life their vision to combine traditional Cornish architecture with contemporary design.
Internally, the open plan living room kitchen-diner creates a space for modern living, with spectacular views across the fields and valley. Externally the timber and copper cladding and traditional slate roof give a nod to tradition whilst also combining seamlessly with the contemporary. With 360 degree views this property certainly has the ‘wow’ factor. The complimentary selection of materials from copper, zinc and stone to granite, millboard, cedar and larch, to name a few, this immensely attractive build is a testament to the high quality finish that our team have accomplished with this project.
Environmental impact was high on the agenda for this build. Installing MVHR, air source heat pump, PV panels and the using ICF (insulated concrete formwork) all contributed towards giving this property its low-carbon credentials.
Other interesting features to mention include the feature truss roof which was built onsite by our team, a challenge which our team expertly executed to the clients brief. Internally, other challenges were met including construction of the properties curved walls, the slatted timber screen in the entrance hallway with hidden fixings, and completion of the hard landscape details of the garden.
Working together with the client, we designed and developed some bespoke features including their open-plan kitchen, utility, built in wardrobes, entrance seating area as well as their external landscaping. Providing the clients with alternative options was key in ensuring their brief was met, whilst also securing competitive costs from suppliers to ensure the best possible outcome for our client.
“From the moment we first met with Perring Properties, we had confidence that they would be able to build our new eco home in Cornwall. The construction project was to the highest standards with a range of skilled tradesmen who were able to deliver very good quality workmanship throughout the building. The whole build ran on time in spite of some unavoidable hurdles and we are very pleased with the end result. The team was approachable, ready to answer queries, efficient and we looked forward to our meetings together. Highly recommended.”
